Extra Credit Blog

For this blog, I watched Supersize me. Well one, I was just surprised in general what McDonalds can do to you and how unhealthy it actually is.Morgan Spurlock, the producer, editor, and main character, did a fantastic job getting his point across that McDonalds is unhealthy and horrible for you. Morgan used a lot of voice over, cartoons, and black screens to get his point across. Also when it came to talking to the doctor, arguably one of the most important people in this documentary, he kept everything but the doctor soundless. He wanted to emphasize the importance of what the doctor was saying because people trust doctors. He used cartoons to show and symbolize different things also. People are entertained by cartoons or at least I was. When he was demonstrating how the chicken dies and how many McDonalds there are in the world. Because of the cartoons I remember small details like this. He also did what I was planning on doing with the small black blank screen with white words to show what he is about to talk about. He also kept the camera on him a lot of the time. He did a lot of self filming of him eating or of him in his car. As scenes were changing he played little upbeat songs. Not any songs with words in particular but songs that have a catchy tune. This symbolizes a mood change or a different topic. Over all Spurlock did a fantastic job showing his side of the story. If you watch this movie at the end you never want to eat fast food ever again. I believe after this movie came out McDonalds actually did away with the Supersize option. This just shows that he did such a good job even McDonalds itself was worried that it would effect the populations opinion of the fast food chain.
